This body of work explores the depths of the complexity of the female
experience pre feminist movement of the 1960’s by juxtaposing it with the
shallow seductiveness found in advertising and fashion imagery.
After studying vintage photos of women in old fashion and lifestyle magazines I became captivated with a time that seems so far gone from the present. I can't help but wonder, were women happier then because they didn't know any better? Or was there a burgeoning rebellion brewing underneath the blissful smiles?
